What's on the MusicInOxford.co.uk stereo this week?

MusicInOxford.co.uk reported this week on not one, not two, not three, but four new videos released by Oxfordshire bands, writes Simon Minter.

Very Nice Harry, Spring Offensive, Hot Hooves and Family Machine have all put together visuals to go with their songs, and it's all fantastic, creative stuff.

Oxford's always been a multimedia kind of place, with bands and musicians being keen to augment their sounds with video, performance, and whatever else they can think of. It's yet another example of how we're living in a city of real artists, not just jobbing musicians. There's more video action out there, too, that we haven't covered on the website - a new clip from young-yet-insanely talented metallers The Reaper, for example - proving that February seems to have been a very productive month.

As always, too, there's new stuff to listen to as well as to watch - the first volume of City Of Screaming Spires neatly comprises all that's currently vibrant about the Oxford metal scene, wacko breakbeat loons Coloureds have a new EP on the way (as well as a rather fine remix of Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer), and Robots With Souls - one half of the thumping indie rock duo Phantom Theory - has a double-A-side single out imminently.

Finally, get your celebration hat on and join us in congratulating legendary Oxford music magazine Nightshift on their just-out new issue, with is the 200th.
