Henley Hawks return to winning ways against Dings

Henley Hawks returned to winning ways with a 35-8 victory over Dings Crusaders on Saturday at Dry Leas.

James Comben and Dings' full back Harvey Skelton both missed penalties early on, before Hawks took the lead on 16 minutes.  Comben released Christoph Bart on the right and his inside pass was snapped up by Danny Wells who crossed the line for an unconverted score.

Comben notched two further penalties and Skelton one to give Hawks an 11-3 lead at the break.  Half time replacement Jamie Sutton made an immediate impact for the home side when he finished off a series of pick and drives to score from close range after 42 minutes, on his debut for Henley.

Bart showed off his pace to run clear from 45 metres out and his try made it 23-3, before Skelton broke from deep to narrow the score to 23-8.  But Henley were awarded a penalty try for standing up in the scrum, and then Bart played a try-scoring pass to Alec Hepburn to round off the scoring late on.
