Mark Wilson joins U's on deadline day

Oxford United have made a second transfer deadline day signing with the arrival of unattached midfielder Mark Wilson until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old former England Under 21 international was a free agent after leaving Doncaster Rovers earlier this season.  Wilson began his career with Manchester United, making nine appearances before moving to Middlesbrough for £1.5m in 2001.

He went on to have loan spells with Stoke, Swansea, Sheffield Wednesday  and Livingston before joining FC Dallas in 2005.  Wilson returned to the UK in 2006 and signed for Rovers, making more than 100 appearances for the club.

He will wear the number 24 shirt until May, and said: "I came down on Friday and was really impressed with everything about the club. I went to the game at Burton on Sunday and thought they played really well in the second half, there are clearly some very good players and they are a good bunch of lads. I am really looking forward to playing a part  here."

Manager Chris Wilder said: "Mark has that experience and has played most of his games in the Championship or above. He is a winner and we are very pleased to have him with us."
