Craddock on target for U's in Coventry friendly

Tom Craddock scored for Oxford United as the U's drew 1-1 with Championship side Coventry City in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Wednesday.

The striker's season has been ruined by injury, with his return from a long-term lay-off extended by a red card on his return to the first team and a slight back strain.  But now back in contention for the starting 11, Craddock netted for a United side that also contained Adam Chapman, Asa Hall and Harry Worley.

Reserve team boss Mickey Lewis said: "We were very pleased with the lads. It was a good test and the attitude was spot on. We always say that results don't matter in these games it is all about the performance and this afternoon was a decent performance from everyone.

"Personally I thought Harry Worley and Anthony Tonkin were outstanding but then everyone played well really.  Adam Chapman played 90 minutes, Tom played the whole game, Matt Fletcher played 90 and Oli Johnson played an hour so everyone got that little bit of match sharpness and fitness."

Coventry grabbed a last-minute equaliser to deny Oxford victory.
