Oxford United made it a double transfer deadline day swoop with the capture of Luton Town striker Tom Craddock for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old will be available for United's game against Morecambe on Saturday, as will fellow new singing Josh Payne who has joined from Doncaster. After coming through the youth system at Middlesborough, where he was a member of the FA Youth Cup winning side of 2003/4, Craddock made four appearances in total for the Teessiders.
He went on to score in his first ever league start while on loan at Wrexham in 2006, and had another loan spell at Hartlepool Town before joining Luton on loan initially in 2008. The quick striker scored four goals in eight games in his loan spell, landing a permanent deal in January 2009, ending the season with 12 goals including one in the Hatters Johnstone's Paint Trophy win at Wembley.
He was Luton's topscorer last season with 24 goals in all competitions, and Chris Wilder said: "Tom is a player who we have admired for some time. He has pace, an eye for a goal and bags of ability. He has been a consistent scorer for the last two seasons and has done it at this level before. He is hungry for success and a great age and we think he will do very well for us."
