ICE HOCKEY: Oxford City Stars enjoyed a great away day in Essex with a 3-2 victory over the Chelmsford Chieftains.
The Stars went ahead early in the first period through Alan Green only for the home side, who sit one place above the Stars in the league in fourth, to hit back quickly and make it 1-1.
Dean Francis put the Stars ahead before Darren Elliott grabbed a third for the visitors before the end of the second period.
Aaron Connelly pulled one back for the Essex side after his shot bounced up and over netminder Will Skaife, who had an otherwise excellent match.
But despite late pressure from the home side, the Stars held on for an important victory, and their first of the season over the Chieftains.
