Netball taster sessions launched in Headington

Headington-Netball-PicA series of back to netball taster sessions have been launched in Headington to attract former players to the sport.

Held to coincide with the opening of the £2.1m Oxford Community Arena, which includes six floodlit netball courts, a full-sized artificial grass pitch and pavilion, England Netball is offering local ladies the chance to give netball a go for free at the new facility.

The sessions are designed to provide a gentle introduction to the sport for players aged 16 and over, will be coach-led and cover the basic skills and court play, with an emphasis on fun and learning new skills.  The session is on Wednesday, January 25, from 12.45pm until 1.45pm at The Community Arena, in Marsh Lane.

Lil Roe, who will be coaching on the day, said: “Back to netball is a fantastic way for women to re-introduce themselves back into the game. Not only are the ladies surprised how quickly they develop skills but also how much they improve their fitness levels and have fun, demonstrating why netball is one of the top women’s participation sports in England."
