North Leigh overcame a youthful Oxford United side to progress to the semi-finals of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup on Tuesday night, beating the U's 4-1 at Eynsham Hall.
United attacked down the slope in the first half on a bitterly cold evening, but the first real attack came from the hosts after 15 minutes, with Oxford 'keeper Max Crocombe denying Morgan Williams with his feet.
The Yellows were awarded a penalty after 34 minutes after Marvin Ekpiteta brought down Williams in the box. North Leigh skipper Stuart Hole stepped up and drove the ball past Crocombe to put the home side 1-0 up.
Crocombe was the busier of the two 'keepers, making two further saves to keep United in the game before the break. The League Two side, who were fielding a team largely made up of youth players, started the second half better with Tyrone Marsh and Callum O'Dowda testing former United 'keeper Sam Warrell.
But then Elliot Osbourne-Ricketts broke through the U's defence and beat Crocombe to double North Leigh's advantage, with the first of three goals in five minutes.
United pulled a goal back when a deflected shot somehow found its way into the back of the net, but then Michael Hopkins slammed the ball home from the edge of the area to restore the Yellows' two-goal cushion.
And North Leigh added their fourth goal with three minutes left on the clock through substitute Ben Willoughby. The defeat brings United's run of three consecutive Senior Cup victories to an end.
