Witney Mills fell 10 runs short of their target as they tumbled to defeat at Bicester & North Oxford in Division Three of the Cherwell League on Saturday.
The home side batted first and made 159 all out with Nick Moorman top scoring with 47. Pierre LeFort claimed 5-56 to ensure Witney had a reachable target and Malcolm Evans kept them in the hunt with a knock of 43. But Richard Simpson (4-40) and Michael Speight (3-57) restricted Witney to 149-8 during their innings.
Eilliot Graham hit 104 for Minster Lovell as they beat East Oxford by six wickets at Lincoln College in OCA Division One. Batting first, the home side made 207-7 with Aftab Alam top scoring with 61. But Graham's century plus 30 from Jack Simpson, who also took 3-40, helping the visitors to 211 and the win.
Charlbury came away from Tetsworth with a winning margin of 61 runs the home side fell to 119 all out. Batting first, Iyanka Cooray hit 55 for Charlbury as they posted a target of 180-9, while Hasula Prematalika claimed 3-17 for the home side. But Tetsworth, who lie second bottom of Division One, never looked like reaching that total with Dinish Esky their highest scorer with 34.
Hook Norton enjoyed a 33-run home victory over Freeland in Division Two, despite being bowled out got 137. Tom Bartlett (36) and Tom Rothwell (34) top scored for the home side and despite 40 from Neil Howe, Freeland were only able to scrape together 104 before their last wicket fell.
In Division Three Eynsham were comprehensively thrashed by West Ilsley. Amit Rawal scored a century (115) as the visitors finished their innings on 191-7 but Eynsham tumbled to 81 all out thanks to a great spell from William Wilkins, who finished with figures of 6-17.
West Witney returned from Chesterton with a three-wicket win in Division Five, with Ben Van Vuuren hitting 80 for the visitors, ably supported by Omer Tariq (61) as Witney made 214-7. The home side only reached 207-8 in their overs, with Martin Clutterbuck taking 3-26 for the visitors.
