Jericho health surgery to move to new home

The Jericho Health Centre is to relocate to new, purpose-built premises on the site of the old Radcliffe Infirmary.

The centre will move into its new home in May, and boasts a larger waiting room with wheelchair, a dedicated child health clinic room, extra appointment rooms and parking spaces, and drop-off points for patients.

An NHS spokesperson said the practice would continue to offer all of its current services in the new building, which will include minor operations, coil fittings and drop-in blood test sessions.

Since the late 1990s, the centre has had a temporary branch surgery at the West Oxford Community Centre in Botley Road to see more patients.  The branch surgery will close in May with all patients transferring to the new premises in Jericho.

Dr Karen Kearley, a senior partner at the centre, said: “The branch surgery was always meant to be a short term solution and is not suitable in the long term for patient care.  The new building will enable us to see all our patients in one place and to close the branch surgery.  We will be holding open day sessions for patients to give them information about the move and to answer any questions or concerns that they may have."
