The Oxford Canal towpath in Jericho will be undergoing improvements after Oxfordshire County Council awarded £100,000 to British Waterways to begin a £115,000 project.
The grant has come from Oxfordshire County Council’s Developer Contribution Fund, and is for the improvement of 750-metres of towpath. The work is to be carried out between Walton Well Road Bridge and Isis Lock for eight weeks from August 2.
British Waterways will also be carrying out work to improve facilities for boats navigating the historic Oxford Canal, which flows for 77-miles from the centre of Oxford to Coventry.
