The council’s waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) disposal scheme is one of the first of its kind in the country. The scheme has 16 pink bins placed across the district for small electrical items to be disposed of and recycled.
Councillor George Reynolds said: “Our staff deserve this kind of recognition for a well thought out and effective scheme.”
