St Clare's has been named as Oxfordshire's best performing sixth form college for the second year in the row.
The independent boarding school in Banbury Road, Oxford, came 22nd overall in England in the Government's performance league table, which was announced last month. The college was the first in the UK to offer students the chance to study for the International Baccalaureate as an alternative to A-Levels.
Last year's results saw students achieve a 99 per cent pass rate, while 22 per cent achieved the equivalent of four A* at A-Level. Principal Paula Holloway said the league tables showed St Clare's students were highly motivated and had reaped the rewards.
"The college takes a forward-looking approach to education where students' natural curiosity is encouraged in an intellectually adventurous environment," she said. "Our students continually give us reason to be proud of them and their achievements both in the classroom and our Oxford community. "
The college, which was founded in the 1950s, teaches 24 different languages and has an international student body from 47 different countries. Students have been able to study for the International Baccalaureate since the 1970s.
