Police officers used a Taser gun after they were confronted with a man armed with a knife at a Witney home on Sunday, February 7.
Officers were called to the address in Raleigh Crescent at 9.27pm, where they found the man, aged in his 40s, and discharged the Taser.
Insp Rory Freeman said: “On arrival at the incident, the man threatened to harm himself and officers with a knife which lead to the taser being discharged for both the man’s and officers’ safety.
“The man was arrested for a public order offence.
“I would like to reassure residents that was an isolated incident and we only deploy Taser as a last resort to ensure the safety of everyone involved.”
