Three masked armed men broke into a house in Littlemore before attacking the occupants.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which happened at an address in Cowley Road shortly before 11pm on Sunday, February 7. The trio were armed with various weapons, and attacked two men who were in the house at the time, leaving them with serious injuries.
One man, aged 39, received a broken arm and a cut to the head. A second man, aged 27, received a cut to his eye and bruising to his face. A 31-year-old woman was also in the house during the attack.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and officers are searching for the third man.
Detective Inspector Simon Morton who is leading the investigation, said: “I’d like to reassure the public this type of incident is a very rare occurrence and I don’t believe this is a random attack. I would appeal for any one who is a witness or has any information about the attack to come forward.”
