A man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH after a man suffered a broken cheekbone in an attack in Wootton on Sunday, February 7.
The 46-year-old victim was walking in the road in Hawking Way at around 1.05am when a man assaulted him from behind. The man had to go to the JR2 Hospital for treatment for his injuries.
A 63-year-old man has been released on police bail following the attack.
Det Insp Kev Elkins, leading the investigation, said: “It seems that the offender was disturbed and then walked away.
“This appears to have been an unprovoked attack but we are still investigating exactly what happened and I would ask that anyone who witnessed this assault, or the man walking away, to contact the police.”
Anyone with any information about the incident to contact Det Con Arran Cliff at Thame police station via 08458 505505, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
