Two men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH after a man was attacked with a wooden bat in Cowley in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 12.35am as the 40-year-old victim walked along Hollow Way. He got into an altercation with two men and was assaulted. He was taken to the JR2 Hospital for treatment for fractured ribs and a broken arm.
The two men arrested are aged 42 and 46. Det Sgt Steve Raffield, investigating the incident, said: “We believe at this stage that the victim knew the offenders, and enquiries into the motive of the incident remain ongoing. I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident or has any information which may help with the enquiry.”
