Oxford store raided by robbers

An Oxford store was robbed by two men on Monday, September 6.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at a shop in Albert Street at around 7.10pm.  Two men entered the shop and approached the 20-year-old member of staff behind the till. They patted him down for money and stole £150 cash from the till.  The victim was uninjured during the robbery.

The two men are described as stocky, dark-skinned black men, around 6ft tall and in their 20s. One was wearing a black jacket and a hat, the other, a beige jacket with fur around the collar.  Investigating the incident, PC Steve Martin of the Priority Crime Team said: “The two men ran off in the direction of Canal Street. I would like to speak to anyone who saw two men matching their description in the area at the time, possibly getting into a car.  I’d also like to speak to any shop owner in the area who thinks they may have seen them in their shop acting suspiciously early that day or week.”

Anyone with information should call police on 08458 505505, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
