Careers advice on offer at Banbury LinkPoint

From September 8, adult careers advice will be available at the LinkPoint office in Banbury.

The CfBT (Centre for British Teachers) Education Trust will offer its Next Step service from 10am to 4pm every Wednesday.  The service is open to all adults, whatever their prior skills or employment status, and aims to help people back into work.

Councillor Nicholas Turner, Cherwell District Council's portfolio holder for Customer Service and ICT, said: "This kind of advice is vital for helping people back to work.  The council already runs two successful job clubs and Next Step compliments our efforts perfectly so we’re happy to offer a venue for this service."

Advice is also available by phone and face-to-face meetings at Banbury LinkPoint can be made by appointment.

Sue Hunt, Next Step careers advisers’ team leader, said: "We believe everyone has the ability to develop and grow in their working lives but things often get in the way, hold people back and suppress their potential. Our job is to remove the barriers."
