For most people being a contestant on a popular game show will never be more than a fantasy, but for the Holiday Lettings “2 O’clock Club” it is now a much cherished reality, after they were selected to take part in the BBC quiz Eggheads.
Rory Constant 27, a customer services manager for Holiday Lettings, an Oxford-based holiday home advertising website, teamed up with colleagues Angele Badin, 26, David Dixon, 29, Kate Humphrey, 28, Rachel McCombie, 24, and Tabitha Wilson, 23 to take on some of the biggest brains on TV.
Rachel said: “We all had a brilliant time in London filming Eggheads, although it was quite surreal and nerve-wracking. The Eggheads were all really friendly and super intelligent. After the show we chatted to them for a bit and had our photograph taken with them.”
Despite mugging up on their general knowledge for the show, like most teams that take on the Eggheads the group went home empty handed when the programme went out on Friday, May 24.
“It was an amazing experience, and win, lose or draw, we had a blast,” said Kate. “They obviously thought we were a great team though because we’ve been featured in lots of BBC adverts since.”
